The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has launched state-of-the-art interview facilities developed with technical and financial support from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The United States Embassy and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) donation marks a major step in strengthening Kenya’s anti-graft infrastructure.

Speaking during the unveiling, EACC Chief Executive Officer Abdi Mohamud said the new facilities represent a significant milestone in the modernization of the commission’s investigative processes.

He credited the international partners for their sustained support, noting that the upgraded interview suites will enhance professionalism, efficiency, and integrity in investigations.

Mohamud said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to promoting ethics, transparency, accountability, and good governance, pillars he described as critical to the success of anti-corruption efforts.

United States Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Susan Burns said the facilities will directly enhance EACC’s capacity to conduct professional and effective investigations.

She emphasized that the fight against corruption remains a fundamental pillar of effective law enforcement, adding that strong investigative tools are essential to upholding the rule of law.

INL Director Maureen Mimnaugh reaffirmed the bureau’s commitment to continued collaboration with the Commission.

She observed that Kenya’s long-term prosperity is closely linked to the successful realisation of EACC’s mandate, vision, and mission, underscoring the importance of sustained institutional strengthening.

The new interview facilities are expected to improve the quality of evidence gathering and witness engagement, while aligning EACC’s operations with international best practices in law enforcement and anti-corruption investigations.

The launch highlights growing cooperation between Kenya and its international partners in the fight against corruption, with a shared focus on building capable institutions and safeguarding public trust.
