Nigerian music superstar Davido has once again addressed a long-running paternity dispute, responding publicly to a teenager’s request for a DNA test.

The controversy involves 12-year-old Anu Mitchell Adeleke, whose mother claims the Afrobeats star is her biological father.

The latest development unfolded on January 15, 2026, when Anu shared a heartfelt letter on Instagram appealing for a fresh DNA test. She described ongoing emotional distress, including bullying at school, and expressed a desire for clarity as she grows older.

Davido Breaks Silence on Social Media

In response, Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, took to X (formerly Twitter) with a blunt message denying the claim. He stated that multiple DNA tests had already been conducted and insisted that the results were negative.

His initial post read: “After 5 DNA test … she Dey crase..her and her mom better leave me the f**k alone and go find her papa…”

Clarifying the DNA Tests

The singer continued to engage with fans questioning the matter, reiterating that he had never had a personal relationship with Anu’s mother and that the tests had been performed at five separate medical facilities, with both parties involved in selecting some of the hospitals.

Davido emphasized that all results were negative and vowed not to discuss the issue publicly again.

“Yes I chose 3 hospitals and they chose their own two hospitals … all came out Negative … this is the last time I’m speaking on this nonsense,” he wrote.

Davido also defended his family, noting the Adeleke family’s reputation for acknowledging their children.

Quoting a fan who praised the family for standing by their children, he added, “You guys don’t know my father … he’s even the one that forced me to go .. Adeleke’s we don’t play about Blood on this side !”

A Decade-Long Dispute

The paternity dispute has persisted for over a decade. In 2025, Davido’s former lawyer, Prince Bobo Ajudua, stated that two DNA tests had already been conducted at reputable facilities, both showing that Davido was not Anu’s father.

He described the continued public claims as unfair and potentially harmful to the child involved.

Anu’s mother, Ms. Ayo Labinjoh, however, has repeatedly denied that definitive DNA tests were ever conducted, maintaining that her daughter has not received conclusive evidence regarding Davido’s paternity. This clash of accounts has fueled ongoing debate across social media platforms.

Davido’s Family and Children

Davido, a Grammy-nominated artist, is no stranger to speaking about fatherhood. He currently has six children, though tragically lost one son, David Ifeanyi Adeleke Jr., in a swimming accident in 2022.

His publicly recognized children include Imade Adeleke, Hailey Adeleke, Dawson Adeleke, and twins with his wife, Chioma Rowland. Anu Mitchell Adeleke is not among his acknowledged children.

As the social media debate continues, Davido’s firm response appears to signal that he considers the matter conclusively settled from his perspective, while Anu and her mother continue to seek answers.
