Nakuru, on the other hand, have endured a difficult couple of seasons as they battle to stay afloat in the top tier.
Oilers head coach Gibson Weru insists history and current form will count for little in a derby encounter.
“The season has started well for us with four wins, but this being a derby, I know Nakuru will bring their A-game,” said Weru.
“They will try to disrupt our structures and style of play.”
Weru, who previously played for Nakuru and won league titles with the club in 2012 and 2013, added that his side is prepared for a bruising contest and understands the importance of a fast start.
“If we can settle early and get points on the board, it will give us the upper hand. But the players and the technical bench know it will be competitive from the first minute to the last,” he said.
Since Oilers’ promotion to the Kenya Cup in the 2018–19 season, the two sides have met six times, with each team claiming three victories.
Weru’s charges sit joint top of the table with Kabras on 20 points, while Nakuru are eighth on the log with six points.
Oilers will rely on a powerful forward pack marshalled by Fortune Arturo, Vincent Mwikhali, captain Ibrahim Ayoo and Chrispine Shitundo.
In the backline, Keegan Clarkson will partner the talented Samuel Mwaura at fly-half, with Beldad Ogeta, Samuel Ovwamu and Abutwalib Wesonga among the standout backs.
Nakuru, meanwhile, will look to Emmanuel Mboya, Felix Okoth and Caleb Malemo to lead the charge up front, while Javan Otieno, Kevin Kioko and Habbakuku Ouma will spearhead their backline.
In other Kenya Cup fixtures, former champions KCB host Quins at the Lions Den in Ruaraka, while Blak Blad make the short trip to Ngong Racecourse to face Nondies.
Daystar Falcons will entertain Kisumu in Athi River, while Impala travel west to take on Masinde Muliro University at the Bullring in Kakamega.
