Commercial International Bank (CIB) Kenya Limited has announced the appointment of Tirus Mwithiga as its new Chief Executive Officer.

The appointment is effective February 2026, subject to regulatory approval from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

The bank said the appointment comes as it enters a critical phase of strategic execution, emphasising its focus on strengthening management capacity to drive sustainable growth.

Mwithiga brings over 35 years of banking experience, having held senior executive positions in several leading Kenyan banks.

A qualified Chartered Banker with an MBA from Bangor University, United Kingdom, he has extensive experience across corporate and retail banking, portfolio management, business transformation, and leadership development.

He has also worked with international banks in East Africa and Singapore.

“Commercial International Bank (CIB) Kenya Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Tirus Mwithiga as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His appointment will commence in February 2026, subject to regulatory approval from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE),” the statement read.

His deep market expertise and hands -on experience have consistently supported high - performing teams and resilient business outcomes.
