Former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe has shared a deeply personal look into her mourning process.

Several days after the burial of her father, Maribe took to social media to express the intense pain she is currently experiencing.

The media personality used her Instagram stories to post emotional reflections alongside images from the funeral service. Her messages suggest that while she intended to process the loss privately, the weight of the bereavement has become overwhelming.

"I've been meaning to grieve in my own way and time and pace, but it’s suddenly hitting me like a rocket ball, and every inch of my being hurts,” she opened up.

In a series of posts, Maribe admitted she is struggling to contain her emotions. She noted that she does not know which specific stage of grief she is currently navigating.

Despite her efforts to manage the situation at her own pace, she described a physical and emotional ache that affects every inch of her being.

The posts were accompanied by the poignant song "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa.

A Brave Battle and a Final Farewell

The family had previously shared details regarding the passing of Mr. Maribe Mwangi. According to the official announcement, he passed away peacefully on 22nd December 2025. His death followed a long illness, which the family stated he had bravely borne.

Mr. Mwangi was a respected figure, described in the family’s notice as a husband, father, and grandfather. A memorial service was held on Sunday, 28th December 2025, at the Worldwide Gospel Church in Buruburu. He was later laid to rest on Wednesday, 31st December 2025, at his home in Gathaithi Village.

Honouring a ‘Friend’

Maribe’s posts indicate a very close bond with her father, whom she affectionately referred to as her "friend".

In one story, she shared a hope that he was enjoying himself in the afterlife, suggesting this thought helps her cope with her tears.

"I hope you are having one blast of a party in heaven, Dad, so that these tears make sense, my friend!” Maribe added.

The images shared showed family members gathered around the grave site during the interment in Gathaithi.
