Paths have been drawn and rivalries set, with pool compositions promising early high-stakes encounters. Pool A features defending champions General Service Unit (GSU) alongside The Beast, Kenya Prisons and Nairobi.

Pool B brings together Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), Eldowas, Chema and Trailblazers, while Pool C has Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), Kenya Airport Police Unit (KAPU), Administration Police and Kenya Bunge.  Pool D will feature Prisons, Equity Bank, Kenya Navy and National Youth Service.

The inaugural Kenya Cup in 2025 set a high benchmark. GSU rallied from two sets down to beat KDF 3-2 in a dramatic final, with scores of 25-22, 26-24, 24-26, 17-25 and 15-12, completing a season double after league success. GSU head coach Gideon Tarus said preparation has focused on execution and cohesion.
“We want to be sharp from the first serve to the last point and integrate new players into our system,” Tarus said. “Every match in the Kenya Cup is an opportunity to assert our standards.”

Tarus added that lessons from last season remain fresh. “Our comeback against KDF showed the character in this squad. We want the same hunger as we defend the title,” he said.
The second edition was officially launched at KCB Sports Club by Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, who highlighted volleyball’s growth and reaffirmed government support for athletes' welfare and sports infrastructure.

Organised by the Kenya Volleyball Federation, the tournament forms part of a six-month competitive calendar designed to complement league action. With GSU, KDF, KPA and Kenya Prisons all in the mix, Nyayo National Stadium is set for high-intensity volleyball as the 2026 season takes shape.
