American streaming sensation IShowSpeed has broken his silence after reaching a massive career milestone in Kenya.
The 20-year-old creator landed in Kenya on Sunday as part of his ambitious "Speed Does Africa" tour. During his stay in Nairobi, his YouTube channel officially surpassed 48 million subscribers.
The streamer expressed his gratitude in an emotional message to his fans. He confirmed that the Kenyan leg of his journey provided the final push needed to hit the record.

A Record-Breaking Stream
The Kenyan stop has officially become the most successful part of his 20-country tour. Data shows that Kenya has surpassed all previous stops in terms of subscriber growth and digital engagement.
The Nairobi livestream, which featured the creator exploring the city’s streets, has already reached over 8 million views.
This performance puts Kenya ahead of other tour locations. South Africa recorded 4.9 million views, while Rwanda saw 4.5 million. Other stops on the tour included Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Botswana.
"Kenya is so far number one. The energy here is just different. The numbers don't lie,” IShowSpeed said.
Rapid Channel Growth
Speed revealed that the Kenyan audience helped his channel gain 360,000 new subscribers in a single session.

This is the highest growth he has experienced in any African nation during this tour.
He told his viewers that he would never forget the reception he received in the country.

"Kenya, everybody in the chat, I love y'all so much. Y'all sold out. We gained 360,000 subs and hit 48 million. I love every single one of y'all, and I wish y'all the best. And Kenya, I will never forget y'all. I love y'all. Kenya number one right now, baby,” he said.
The streamer's presence in the capital caused significant movement across the city. Security forces reportedly struggled to manage massive crowds that brought traffic to a standstill in parts of Nairobi.
Presidential Welcome
Unlike other stops on the continent, the visit to Kenya received high-level state recognition. President William Ruto issued a formal video statement to welcome the global star. Ruto described the nation as a "pulse" and a "home" for visitors.
The Ministry of Tourism and Nairobi County officials also engaged with the tour. They highlighted the city as a major hub for digital innovation and the "orange economy".
Viral Moments in Nairobi
The tour was filled with cultural interactions that quickly went viral online. At Kenyatta Market, Speed purchased a Kenyan-themed shirt for KSh 20,000, despite it being priced at KSh 3,000.

He also took part in local sports at Upper Hill School. During this visit, he received javelin coaching from Julius Yego, an Olympic silver medallist. Another highlight was a viral encounter with a tall Gen Z Goliath.
Social media attention also peaked when Africa’s fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, challenged the streamer to a sprint. Omanyala joked on social media that he would "whoop" the creator by the third step of the race.
