Born Darren Jason Watkins Jr., popularly known as iShowSpeed, is an American internet personality and live streamer whose visit to Kenya on Sunday caused a stir in Nairobi, drawing massive crowds and widespread online attention.

The streamer received an enthusiastic welcome as boda boda riders and motorists trailed behind him through the city, with crowds darting across streets and sidewalks to catch a glimpse or record videos on their phones. 

His presence quickly turned ordinary city scenes into viral moments, livestreamed to millions of viewers around the world.

The visit comes amid growing interest in Kenya among high-profile digital creators and global celebrities who are increasingly leveraging large online audiences to explore new destinations and engage fans in real time. 

The Kenya stop was part of a broader Africa-focused tour that has placed him at the centre of public attention across several countries.

While in Nairobi, the American star engaged in several activities around the Central Business District, including a motorsport-related event that drew curious onlookers and added to the excitement surrounding his movements. 

His itinerary was closely followed by fans, many of whom tracked his location through livestreams and social media updates.

The streamer, who commands millions of followers worldwide, began his visit with a surprise appearance at a Nairobi school in Upper Hill, where students erupted into cheers and excitement. 

The unannounced visit quickly spread online, drawing fans to the area and setting the tone for the rest of his stay in the city.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Watkins began creating online content in his early teens.

His visit to Kenya drew widespread attention both online and offline. Centered largely in Nairobi, the visit quickly became a public spectacle as thousands of fans gathered at various locations in hopes of seeing him in person.
