
Police in Kisii County are investigating the death of a 30-year-old woman who was found dead in her home in Kerina following a domestic altercation.
The deceased, identified as Dorcas Kerubo, reportedly had an argument with her husband on January 8.
Police say she sustained fatal injuries during the incident.
Her body was discovered in the sitting room by family members, lying in a pool of blood with injuries to the head, face, and lower limbs.
According to investigators, the couple’s ten-year-old daughter found her mother unresponsive and immediately informed her grandmother.
The suspect left the scene following the incident but was later traced and arrested by police on Thursday evening.
Kerubo’s body was moved to a mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.
Authorities said the case remains under investigation.
This incident adds to the number of domestic disputes in the region that have turned fatal.
Police continue to investigate such cases and are working to resolve ongoing inquiries.
In a separate case, police in Baringo County are investigating the death of a man found in a lodging in the Esageri area.
The deceased, who had booked the room on January 5, was found unresponsive in the Kambimoi area three days later.
A chemical suspected to have been ingested was discovered under his pillow.
The motive behind the incident remains under investigation, and the body has been moved to a mortuary pending an autopsy.
Authorities note that incidents of suicide appear to be on the rise, and investigations into such cases are ongoing.
