Junior golfer Esther Paul in a past action./ HANDOUT Over 140 of the continent’s top junior golfers from 20 countries will take centre stage at the All Africa Junior Team Championship (AAJTC), set for the lush fairways of Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club in March.
The championship, which serves as Africa’s premier junior golf competition, will bring together the continent’s top young talent, with approximately 140 elite juniors competing over three demanding rounds (54 holes).
Hosted by the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF), the 2026 edition marks a historic milestone as Kenya stages the continental showpiece for the very first time.
The JGF, an initiative of the Kenya Golf Union (KGU) and the Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU), was established to promote and develop junior golf among both boys and girls, creating clear pathways from grassroots to elite competition.
The AAJTC championship will run from March 22 to March 27, with tournament rounds scheduled from March 23 to March 26.
The AAJTC remains a vital platform for identifying, nurturing and sharpening young African golfing talent, offering juniors invaluable exposure to elite competition at the continental level. First staged in 2008, the championship has long been a proven launching pad for Africa’s finest golfers.
JGF President Vincent Mukiri noted that securing hosting rights for the prestigious event was the result of sustained effort and strong partnerships. “The journey to host the All-Africa Junior Team Championship has been made possible through the tireless efforts of many partners,” Mukiri said.
Mukiri expressed gratitude to the key stakeholders whose support made the landmark hosting possible.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Vincent Mukiri (AGC), The R&A, the Kenya Golf Union (KGU), the Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU), our sponsors and specifically the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, for their unwavering support."
“This championship aligns perfectly with Kenya’s broader ambition to harness the power of sports as a tool for youth empowerment, unity and socio-economic development, and the Ministry’s commitment is a key factor in ensuring this event will be a tremendous success.”
