A taxi driver is fighting for his life in hospital after he was stabbed during a confrontation with a passenger he had ferried to Eastleigh, Nairobi.
The incident occurred on the night of December 30, 2025, following a disagreement over fare payment, according to the driver’s account to police.
Police said the driver had picked up a passenger from South C and driven him to Eastleigh.
Upon arrival near a local mosque, a dispute arose between the two.
According to police, the passenger allegedly contacted another individual who brought a knife, which was then used to stab the driver.
The driver sustained multiple stab wounds to the back and collapsed at the scene as the assailant fled.
The injured driver was rushed to hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition, police said.
Police said on Wednesday that they were pursuing the suspect believed to have carried out the attack, as well as another individual suspected of supplying the weapon.
Investigations are ongoing.

Authorities have reiterated calls for members of the public to avoid taking the law into their own hands and instead report suspected criminal activity to the police for proper handling.
