Kenyan media personality Liz Jackson has delivered a fiery rebuttal to social media users attempting to link her to the late former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo.

The exchange comes amid heightened online speculation following the politician’s tragic demise in a road accident on 13 December 2025.

The Naivasha Tragedy and Car Controversy

Cyrus Jirongo passed away after his Mercedes-Benz was involved in a head-on collision with a Climax Coach bus on the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.

In the aftermath, "online detectives" alleged that the luxury vehicle involved in the crash was identical to one Liz Jackson had previously flaunted on her social media pages.

Further fueling the fire were conflicting reports about Jirongo’s final movements.

While National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula confirmed meeting the politician in Karen shortly before the trip, netizens began spinning a narrative of a romantic involvement between the influencer and the veteran politician.

Village Chores and the "Widow" Clapback

The tension reached a boiling point during Liz’s Christmas break in the village. The influencer shared a TikTok video documenting her rural life—splitting firewood, feeding livestock, and preparing for a bath in a traditional outdoor setup.

One follower, @Lucy Neisa, commented: "In the village, they do not know you are a widow; they are just giving you work, surely."

Liz did not mince words in her response, challenging the commenter by asking: "Was I ever even married to the man?"

Her response was met with a mix of amusement and support from fans:

  • "Ushago hawatambui influencer": Many noted that rural life is a great equaliser where celebrity status and urban gossip hold no weight.

  • Resilience in Grief: While some users joked about her "mourning" period, others praised her for remaining humble and hardworking despite the heavy rumours circulating in the city.

Jirongo’s Known Marital History

The late Cyrus Jirongo was a self-confessed polygamist. While some reports suggest he had over ten wives throughout his life, four were publicly recognised.

Following the accident, three widows—Christine Nyokabi Kimani, Anne Kanini, and Anne Lanoi Pertet—stood together to receive mourners, notably absent of any mention of the media personality.

Furthermore, NTSA records clarified that the Mercedes involved in the crash was registered under Smart Cars Limited, though Jirongo had been associated with the vehicle since 2020
