National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula on Friday joined the Tachoni community to mark their cultural festival day. 
The event was held at the Masinde Muliro Grounds in Webuye East constituency, Bungoma county.
Speaking thereafter, Wetang'ula noted that "culture is vital for a progressive society as it provides identity". 
"It also shapes everything from language and beliefs to customs and laws, giving life meaning and guiding people's roles within their community," he added. 
He expressed gratitude to the community for the invite. 
The Speaker was accompanied by Senate Chief Whip Wafula Wakoli, County MP Catherine Wambilianga, Nabii Nabwera (Lugari) and the host MP, Hon. Martin Pepela, MCAs, Senior County officers and other dignitaries.
