President William Ruto at the Baringo Festival and Kimalel goat auction on DECEMBER 22, 2025/PCS

President William Ruto on Monday joined residents at the Baringo Cultural Festival and Kimalel goat auction. 

More than 4,200 goats were set for auction during this year's event. 

The festival begin on December 20, and is set to day today, December 22, 2025. 

On Sunday, Benjamin Cheboi urged leaders, locals and visitors to support farmers by purchasing the goats for the festivities.

“We have integrated the physical selling of goats with an online platform called E-farmer to gather for the needs of all those who are unable to attend the event because once they order for the goats it will be delivered up to their doorstep,” he said. 

He noted that the festival is an opportunity to attract both local and international tourists to experience Baringo’s scenic landscapes and wildlife.

This is even as the county moves toward recognition as a UNESCO Global Geopark destination.
