Police are investigating an incident in which a 40-year-old woman was stabbed and killed in a domestic fight with her husband in the Keringet area of Kuresoi, Nakuru County.
Police said Joyce Lelei died at a local hospital where she had been rushed after the attack at her house. Her body had multiple stab injuries to the upper limbs.
Police said they are looking for her husband for questioning over the December 19, 2025 incident. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Elsewhere in Kisumu’s Kabodho area, a 17-year-old boy died after being trapped by a heap of sand that he and others were harvesting. The boy was a Grade Eight pupil at a local school.
He was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police said they are investigating the incident.
In the Kondele area of Kisumu County, a German national collapsed and died in a guest room.
Police said Macha Nobert Macha, 62, had checked into the room on December 12 and was later joined by his girlfriend.
He started shivering while in bed before collapsing and dying as he tried to stand up. His body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Meanwhile, police in Nairobi’s Lunga Lunga area are investigating a murder in which one Alex Murimi, 33, was fatally assaulted by another man over claims that he stole sukuma wiki.
A rope and cable allegedly used in the assault were recovered at the scene. The body was found near the residence of the suspect.
The suspect was arrested pending questioning and arraignment. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
In Usenge, Siaya County, a fisherman drowned in Lake Victoria.
The incident happened on December 18 as a group of fishermen were fishing. Three others escaped the incident, police said.
The body was later retrieved from the water and moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
In the Gingo area of Magunga, Homa Bay County, the body of a man was found floating in Lake Victoria.
The body had not been immediately identified when it was discovered on Thursday afternoon, police said. It was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Cases of drowning have been on the rise in the lake, amid calls for caution among fishermen. At least two cases are reported weekly.
