The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Foreign Affairs Korir Sing’oei has extended heartfelt appreciation to colleagues and staff for the support shown to his family following the passing of his father, Mzee John Kibiego Ole Sing’Oei. 

In a message addressed to the State Department, Sing’oei noted that words could not fully convey the depth of gratitude he felt for the compassion, solidarity, and unwavering support extended during the difficult period. 

"Dear Colleagues, words cannot fully convey the depth of gratitude I owe to the entire State Department for Foreign Affairs for the compassion, solidarity, and unwavering support extended to my family and me following the loss of our beloved father," he said. 

His father was laid to rest on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the family home in Kobos, Kitale.  

Sing’oei highlighted the presence, prayers, messages of condolence, and generous contributions from colleagues both within the State Department and Missions abroad as a source of great comfort.

He emphasised that the fraternity demonstrated the true meaning of public service, standing together in all seasons.  

He also extended special appreciation to those who undertook the long journey to Kitale to join the family during the burial, describing their kindness as a blessing. 

“Please accept my sincere and heartfelt thanks for your kindness and walking with us throughout this period. May God bless you and your families abundantly,” he said.  

The death of Mzee Sing’Oei was announced by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on December 11, 2025.

He described the man as more than just a parent, saying he was a pillar of wisdom, calm strength and unshakable integrity whose influence extended well beyond his immediate family.

“His humility and kindness touched countless lives, leaving a mark that will not fade with time,” Mudavadi said.

He further noted that Mzee Sing’Oei’s guidance, generosity and gentle spirit would continue to resonate through the people he mentored and the values he lived by.

“As we remember him, we hold onto the comforting truth that his influence and the lessons he imparted will continue to shine through future generations,” Mudavadi said.
