First Daughter Charlene Ruto captured attention by standing up on the presidential dais to dance enthusiastically during a performance.

Unable to contain her excitement, she raised one hand with two fingers in the air and moved to the beat, while a woman off-camera laughed loudly.

The song was "Tunaweza" by Femi One, Trio Mio, and Iyaani—a patriotic track released in 2022 with lyrics like "Ipeperushwe juu, juu sana, bendera yetu Kenya, tunaweza..."—which has become a staple at national events. Trio Mio and Iyaani were among the performers on the field below.

Kenyans online had mixed reactions to the viral video. Some speculated it signalled support for her father's potential second presidential bid, with comments like Jeffsauke: “My views are incriminating,” and johbi.ey_winchez: “I saw her pointing towards tutam. Vibing in style."

Despite the typically private nature of the Ruto family, Charlene shared a photo offering a rare glimpse into her extended family.

President Ruto Startled by Fighter Jet Flyover

A traditional low fly-by by Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) aircraft added drama when an F-5 fighter jet roared overhead at high speed.

The thunderous noise sent a shockwave through the stadium, visibly startling President William Ruto, who flinched and ducked despite the prior announcement.

Other dignitaries reacted similarly, while Chief of Defence Forces General Charles Kahariri remained composed, standing calmly beside the president.

The aerial display, meant to showcase military capabilities, briefly unsettled the crowd but was met with applause overall.

Earlier Rhino Encounter

Adding to the president's eventful week, Ruto had been startled days earlier during a visit to Taita Taveta for the launch of a rhino sanctuary.

A rhino released from its cage charged toward his vehicle, prompting a quick reaction. US delegates nearby playfully teased him, joking about jumping out of the van. Ruto later laughed while recounting the story, noting how the animal had "targeted" him.
