Amid grief and family tension, Pastor Victor Kanyari recently gave his children a day to remember, treating 12-year-old Sky Victor and younger brother Danivictor (Danny) to lunch and shopping in Nairobi.
Lunch, Laughter and New Headphones
Videos shared by Sky on TikTok (December 5–6, 2025) show the trio enjoying a lavish meal at an upscale restaurant.

The camera captures Danny politely wiping his mouth, then pans to a smiling Kanyari surrounded by a few adults.
The outing continued with boutique shopping for trendy outfits, followed by an electronics store where Kanyari surprised Sky with high-end multi-bass headphones.
Her excited squeals melted hearts online. Sky captioned one clip: “Thank you baba for taking us out, we had a great time.”
A Brief Escape from Mourning
The joyful moments come barely a month after the children lost their mother, celebrated gospel singer Betty Bayo, who succumbed to acute leukemia on November 10, 2025.
Bayo was laid to rest on November 20 in a ceremony attended by both Kanyari and her widower, Hiram Gitau alias Tash.
Custody Storm Brewing in the Background
The outing unfolded against rising family drama. On December 3, Bayo’s brother Edward Kang’ethe Mbugua went live on TikTok accusing Tash of concealing the severity of Betty’s illness from relatives and questioned the handling of politician-donated funds meant for the children.

Mbugua openly urged Kanyari to seek full custody, declaring, “Baba ako hai” (The biological father is alive) and claiming Bayo and Tash were never legally married.
Sky’s Plea for Peace Between “Baba” and “Daddy”
Days earlier, Sky had posted videos of shopping trips with Tash, whom she calls “Daddy,” while affectionately referring to Kanyari as “Baba.”
In one emotional clip she begged netizens to respect both men, saying they play different but loving roles in her life.
Radio personality Dr Ofweneke joined many Kenyans in pleading that the children, especially Sky, be shielded from public pressure during mourning.
