Musician Kevin Bahati has once again become the subject of intense online discussion after an elderly man publicly came forward, claiming to be his biological father and pleading for a chance to finally meet him.
In a viral video, the man introduced himself as Bahati’s father and stated that he was the one who took the singer to a children’s home many years ago.
He claimed that he and Bahati’s mother were struggling financially at the time and felt they could not provide their child with the life he deserved.
“Bahati, I’m asking you to forgive me,” he said emotionally in the clip. “I am your father. I took you to a children’s home because I knew I couldn’t raise you. If I had abandoned you, I feared you wouldn’t survive. That is why I chose that path.”
Now 69 years old and living in Western Kenya, the man said he feels a deep sense of pain whenever he sees the award-winning musician on television.
Crucially, he referenced Judith Makokha—the individual who recently claimed to be Bahati’s mother—saying he believes she is still alive and searching for Bahati as well.
He added that he has even spoken to a pastor who promised to help track Bahati down.
The Demand for DNA Proof
To settle the matter once and for all, the elderly man insisted he is ready to take the necessary steps to prove his claim.
“Even if it means doing a DNA test, I am willing,” he stressed. “I just want forgiveness.”

Bahati’s Reaction: Humour Meets Frustration
Bahati eventually responded to the circulating videos with a mixture of humour and visible frustration. Sharing the clip on his own social media platforms, he attempted to dismiss the matter, writing: “Enough with the jokes, let my parents rest in peace ???”
His reaction only fuelled the online frenzy, with Kenyans flocking to the comments to share mixed opinions, ranging from genuine curiosity to high levels of sarcasm:
Tonnie Ogana: “There’s a strong resemblance. Waende DNA.”
Elvine R Kemunto: “Bahati, you’re the king of clout — another song loading.”
Dafa Mafelina: “Just call them and go do a DNA.”
Elya-c Eliano: “I am your grandfather, but younger than you.”

The Earlier Mother Claim
This latest video comes shortly after another emotional appeal went viral—this time from a woman claiming to be Bahati’s biological mother.
In that earlier clip, the woman said she gave up the singer due to poverty and has been trying to reach him.
That video left Bahati visibly stunned, leading him to publicly question the veracity of the claim: “ But my mum died over 25 years ago,” he wrote in response.
“I attended the burial and saw the grave myself ??? This woman has confused me even more. So what should I do???”
With two different individuals now stepping forward, the situation has sparked intense debates about family, identity, and whether these are genuine appeals or attempts at "clout-chasing"—leaving Bahati and his fans waiting to see whether the matter will be resolved, perhaps through the DNA tests both claimants say they are willing to undertake.
