The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has announced 100 vacancies for firefighter trainees as part of a fresh recruitment drive aimed at strengthening safety and emergency response capacity across the country’s airports.
KAA, established in 1991 under the Kenya Airports Authority Act Cap 395, said the new positions are in line with its mandate to provide and maintain infrastructure for aviation services.
The Authority is seeking what it described as “competent and self-driven persons” to join its operations.
According to the notice, the firefighter trainee positions fall under Job Grade S3 and will be offered on an initial one-year contract.
Successful applicants will undergo on-the-job training during the one-year period and may subsequently be appointed on permanent and pensionable terms upon successful completion of the programme.
The Authority has asked interested candidates to visit its website under the Careers section for detailed job descriptions, qualifications, and application procedures.
Applications must be received no later than Monday, 8th December 2025, at 5:00 pm East African Time.
KAA emphasised that it is an equal opportunity employer and encouraged “Women, Persons with Disabilities, Minority and Marginalised Groups” to apply. It further warned that canvassing in any form or failure to attach required documents will lead to automatic disqualification.
Alongside the recruitment notice, KAA also issued several tender announcements for eligible firms.
The tenders include the provision of insurance brokerage services and the supply and installation of uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems at Moi International Airport.
The tenders, all issued under the e-procurement platform, require bidders to download documents from the government portal and immediately forward their details to [email protected].
KAA stated that all addenda or clarifications will be posted exclusively on the e-GP system. The Authority also warned that canvassing by bidders or their proxies will result in automatic disqualification.
Among the tenders advertised is KAA/923/0129/2025-26, which seeks the provision of insurance brokerage services for the Airport Operations Liability Policy. Another tender, KAA/923/0122/2025-26, involves group life assurance and last expense insurance brokerage services. Both will close on December 2, 2025, at 11:00 am.
KAA has also invited bids under KAA/923/0080/2025-26 for the supply and installation of Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) systems at Moi International Airport. The optional site visit is scheduled for 2nd December 2025 at 10:00 am, with the tender closing on 11th December 2025 at 11:00 am.
The notices were issued by Dr. Mohamud M. Gedi, the Acting Managing Director.
The recruitment and tender announcements signal ongoing efforts by KAA to enhance safety, improve airport operations and strengthen service delivery across Kenya’s aviation network.
