Oga Obinna Praises Mike Sonko for Maturity and Restraint in Family Dispute

Content creator and media personality Oga Obinna has publicly ongratulated former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko for exercising restraint during a tense family-related incident involving the husband of his daughter, Salma.

In a message shared on his social media platforms, Obinna acknowledged Sonko’s decision to remain calm, noting that it prevented the situation from escalating.

Obinna stated that Sonko’s ability to hold back “hands from traveling in high velocity” demonstrated maturity in conflict situations.

According to him, not everyone manages to remain composed in moments of intense provocation, and Sonko’s behaviour served as an example of emotional control.

Obinna Speaks Against Gender-Based Violence

In his statement, Obinna emphasised his strong stand against gender based violence whether man-to-woman or woman-to-man.

He revealed that he personally survived such experiences in the past, which shaped his perspective on the emotional and psychological burden such violence carries.

“It drains somebody,” he noted, urging individuals in toxic or violent situations to choose leaving over revenge or confrontation. His message encouraged victims or affected persons to prioritise safety, dignity, and peaceful conflict resolution.

Obinna’s remarks sought to highlight the importance of restraint and non-violence, especially when public figures are involved in disputes that quickly capture national attention.

The entertainer urged Kenyans to understand that walking away is sometimes the strongest decision one can make when handling conflict.
