Gospel singer Betty Bayo passed away on November 11, leaving behind a heartbroken family, friends, and fans.
But none have been more affected than her daughter, Sky Victor, whose final moments with her mum were filled with love, fear, and desperate hope.
According to the family, the 11th Hour hitmaker succumbed to leukaemia, a condition she had been diagnosed with only recently. Sky, still a young girl in school, was unaware that her mother’s health had worsened.
On that tragic night, Bayo began bleeding and struggled to breathe. Her close friend Shiru wa GP, a fellow gospel singer, later revealed that Betty’s strength had completely faded.
“When I slept, Betty started bleeding. She woke up and felt like oxygen had run out. She tried to walk down the stairs while bleeding,” Shiru recalled.
Sky, who had been instructed not to sleep, saw her mother in distress and ran to help. “She asked her, ‘Mum, where are you going?’”
Shiru recounted. “It’s like Betty had bled a lot and had no oxygen. So her daughter started looking for car keys and honking the car horn.”

The young girl’s quick thinking alerted neighbours, who rushed to the scene and helped take Bayo to Kenyatta National Hospital.
As the ambulance prepared to leave, Sky insisted on saying something to her mother. With tears streaming down her face, she told her:
“Mum, I know you’re afraid, but you’re going to fight this cancer. You’ll get out of here.”

Inside the ambulance, Sky reportedly knelt down and prayed, crying out to God not to take her mother away. “She knelt down and told God, ‘Mungu usiache mama yangu akufe.’” Shiru said, recalling the heartbreaking moment.
Bayo fought for two more days but eventually succumbed to the illness.
Hours after her mother’s death, Sky took to social media, posting a black-and-white photo of Betty with the simple caption announcing her passing.
The pair had shared a close and unbreakable bond, often appearing together on Sky’s YouTube channel, Sky Victor 254.
Their conversations were light-hearted yet meaningful — with Bayo guiding her daughter through life, faith, and love.
In one particularly emotional video, Bayo told Sky what she should do if she ever found herself alone. Those words now ring with haunting significance.
