Detectives in Kiambu County are investigating the brutal killing of a 21-year-old delivery man whose body was discovered outside his home in Ruaka on Sunday morning.
Police identified the deceased as Douglas Abutsu, who reportedly ran a small delivery business in the area.
According to a police report, Abutsu’s body was found in the Sir Rueben area with multiple injuries, including deep cuts to his left palm, abdomen, back, and shoulder.
Witnesses told investigators that two women had visited the young man’s house at dawn but found him absent.
The neighbours said they overheard the visitors calling him several times, asking to meet him.
When Abutsu responded that he was on his way, the women reportedly left the compound to meet him outside.
Moments later, residents said they heard a commotion, after which the victim was found fatally wounded.
The attackers are said to have fled the scene immediately.
The motive behind the killing remains unclear.
Police moved the body to the mortuary for an autopsy as investigations continue.
As of Tuesday, no arrests had been made in connection with the murder.
Detectives are pursuing leads to establish the identities of the suspects and the circumstances that led to the attack.
In a separate incident in Rachuonyo, Homa Bay County, police are probing the killing of Fidel Omondi Adwol, aged 20, whose body was found on the roadside with deep cuts to the head.

Two of his friends who were with him managed to escape unhurt and have since been questioned by investigators.
The assailants fled the scene, leaving the victim lying in a pool of blood.
Authorities said there has been an increase in violent incidents in the area amid political tensions ahead of the upcoming by-election scheduled for late November.
