Ugandan singer Nina Roz is calling out authorities after her father was arrested in Sembabule in an incident she describes as humiliating, unjust, and deeply painful for her family.
In a heartfelt post shared on her socials, the “Billboard Kipande” star revealed that her father was detained after one of his cows unintentionally wandered onto land said to be owned by President Yoweri Museveni.
Nina Roz painted a picture of a hardworking man whose only “crime” was an animal grazing in the wrong place.
“My heart is breaking. Today, my father was arrested in Sembabule because one of his cows mistakenly strayed onto land allegedly owned by the President. A cow. Grazing. That’s all it took for him to be dragged away like a criminal,” she alleged.
She added that the arrest reflects a broader problem faced by ordinary Ugandans navigating power structures that often leave them vulnerable and afraid.
“This isn't just about land. It's about a system that makes the poor fear the powerful. It's about a father who has worked his whole life in the sun, providing for his family through honest farming now humiliated and detained because of a mistake by an animal.”

Struggling to process the shock, the singer questioned how she would comfort her siblings as their father remained behind bars over what she described as an innocent accident.
“How do I explain this pain to my siblings? How do I sleep knowing my father is behind bars for something so unintentional, so human? Where is compassion? Where is leadership that protects, not punishes?”
She ended with a plea to the authorities, demanding fairness and compassion:
“Uganda Police Force this is not justice. This is cruelty. Please, let my father go. Let our people breathe.”
As of now, local authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the arrest, and fans are rallying around Nina Roz online, urging for the release of her father and condemning the incident.
