The event will act as a mini qualifier, following last weekend’s Muthaiga Golf Club leg, which saw six players secure spots in the finale.

The Grand Finale is scheduled for November 28 at Muthaiga.

Last weekend, junior golfer Brianna Ngecu impressed to claim the Overall Lady Winner title at Muthaiga.

The 13-year-old scored 81 strokes off a handicap of 10, securing her spot for the Grand Finale.

Quram Bhatti (+1 handicap) emerged Overall Men Winner with a 71 gross, edging Bhavnish Chandaria on countback.

Division Two winners were Christine Ng’ang’a (42 points) and Ravi Patel (41 points).

Wanjiku Mbuthi took Division Three with 39 points, while Maina Kaniu won the Junior category with 40 points.

Edwin Olweny and Daniel Chege were the guest and staff winners, respectively.

NCBA Group Director John Gachora expressed excitement about the weekend’s activities, which include the Nyahururu monthly mug, the NCBA Manchester Salver as part of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship Series, and the Kiambu Golf Club Captain’s Prize.

“These tournaments highlight our commitment to growing golf across the region, providing platforms for golfers to showcase talent and fostering competition and community,” he said.

Meanwhile, more than 160 golfers are expected for Saturday’s Kiambu Golf Club Captain’s Prize, capping a tournament week that has already featured the Clergy and Friends event, juniors day, a seniors tournament, and a curtain raiser.

The Caddies Tournament follows on Monday.

Outgoing Captain William Muguima thanked NCBA, the year’s title sponsor, for supporting the event.

“Welcoming over 160 players is a milestone for Kiambu Golf Club. This turnout reflects the work we have done this year with our members and sponsors,” he said.

Muguima added that the tournament promises lasting memories and a fitting celebration of the club’s achievements.
