Kenya’s beloved radio personality, Alex Mwakideu, is currently soaking up the magic of Uganda in an unforgettable 8-day tourism experience that’s capturing hearts across East Africa.
Known for his infectious energy and love for adventure, the Radio 47 host has been documenting his journey through breathtaking photos and videos, giving his fans a front-row seat to the best that Uganda — fondly known as the Pearl of Africa — has to offer.
Mwakideu is part of a team of Kenyan delegates in the tourism sector participating in the “Explore Uganda Tour,” a special cross-border initiative designed to promote collaboration and showcase Uganda’s scenic beauty.

The initiative is spearheaded by the Ugandan Consulate in Mombasa, under the visionary leadership of Ambassador Paul Mukumbya, who continues to champion unity and synergy within the region’s tourism space.
According to Ambassador Mukumbya, the collaboration between Kenya and Uganda goes beyond tourism — it’s a celebration of shared culture, heritage, and vision.
“Our partnership is about complementing each other to grow tourism and regional unity,” he emphasized.
The journey kicked off spectacularly, with Day 1 marked by a symbolic stop at the Equator in Uganda, where the northern and southern hemispheres meet — a fitting metaphor for unity and connection.

Delegates were treated to a warm Ugandan welcome complete with cultural performances, photo opportunities, and a vibrant showcase of the country’s hospitality.
As the tour continues, Mwakideu and his fellow delegates are expected to visit some of Uganda’s most iconic destinations — from lush national parks and wildlife reserves to cultural landmarks and historical sites.
The experience is not only about discovery but also about strengthening the tourism bond between Kenya and Uganda.
Sharing his excitement on social media, Mwakideu highlighted the spirit of collaboration that defines this experience:
“Tourism isn’t about competition, it’s about collaboration. Kenya and Uganda beautifully complement each other! We may not have gorillas in Kenya, but Uganda does. They may not have white sandy beaches, but we do. Together, we offer travelers the best of both worlds.”

His words perfectly capture the essence of the Explore Uganda Tour — a celebration of unity through diversity, and a reminder that when East African nations come together, they can create experiences that inspire the world.
As Mwakideu continues to explore Uganda’s mountains, lakes, and cultural richness, fans and travel enthusiasts alike are keeping a close eye on his journey.
Beyond the scenic views and travel content, his adventure stands as a shining example of how collaboration and shared passion can drive regional growth — one breathtaking experience at a time.
