“I know it’s not possible, but for a moment, I thought what if he actually resurrected? We’ve heard stories of people dying and coming back,” she said.

The death of Raila Odinga  Kenya’s long-time opposition leader and former Prime Minister,was announced  on 15 October 2025 in India, where he was receiving medical treatment. According to reports, he suffered a cardiac arrest while on a morning walk in Kerala.

His death at age 80 marked the end of a monumental political career that spanned over four decades. Odinga was widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Kenya’s modern history — a tireless advocate for democracy, justice, and national unity.

Following the announcement, President William Ruto declared seven days of national mourning, describing Raila as “a once-in-a-generation leader and a giant of democracy.”

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta also paid tribute, calling him “a father to the nation and a steadfast champion for the people.”
