Smooth jazz icon Kenny G landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 10 pm tonight to a warm reception from fans and organisers, ahead of his much-anticipated concert in Nairobi this Saturday.
The Grammy-winning saxophonist will headline the sold-out show titled One Night Only with Kenny G at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
Excitement was palpable at the airport as jazz enthusiasts and loyal fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the celebrated musician.
Dressed in his signature casual elegance, Kenny G appeared delighted to be in Kenya, greeting fans and posing for photos.

Speaking to the media shortly after his arrival, Kenny G said:
"I’m very excited to be here in Nairobi for One Night Only with Kenny G. I’ve been to Nairobi three times before, mostly for holidays and safari, but this is my first time performing here — and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve never been to Uganda either, so this whole trip is something we’re all really excited about.
"We hope people come out and enjoy the concert because many have never seen us perform live. Sharing this music in person is always a special experience."
When asked how it felt to bring his music to Kenya, the Grammy-winning saxophonist replied:
"It’s truly exciting. I’m from another part of the world, so for people here to know my music and welcome me in this way is incredible. If my melodies can create good memories for people, then that’s the greatest reward."
On what fans should expect at the sold-out KICC show, he added:
"The night isn’t just about saxophones — it’s about incredible musicianship."
The organisers of the event, which has been billed as one of Nairobi’s biggest music nights of the year, expressed their joy at successfully bringing the star to Kenya.

The sold-out status of Saturday’s concert is a testament to Kenny G’s enduring appeal. With a career spanning over four decades and more than 75 million records sold worldwide, he remains one of the best-selling instrumental musicians of all time.
His hits such as Songbird, Silhouette, and Forever in Love continue to resonate with audiences across generations.

The One Night Only with Kenny G concert promises a night of unforgettable music as the saxophonist takes his Nairobi audience through a repertoire of his greatest hits. Industry insiders say the event also underlines Nairobi’s growing reputation as a hub for world-class live performances.
For those lucky enough to have secured tickets before they sold out, Saturday’s show at the KICC is set to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience — a rare opportunity to enjoy the magic of Kenny G live in the heart of Kenya.
