Kenyan comedian, media personality, and YouTuber Oga Obinna has disclosed that he recently became a father for the fifth time, but only learned about his daughter’s birth months later.
Speaking in an interview with Carol Sonnie, Obinna said the pregnancy had been kept from him by his former partner, despite earlier discussions about family planning.
“You get someone and try to work things out. You say the kids are enough, and the person agrees. We even settled on a five-year family planning option. What I did not know is that she removed it without telling me. She got pregnant, stayed pregnant for nine months, delivered, and still didn’t tell me,” he explained.
The entertainer revealed he only found out when the baby was already about three or four months old. He said he received the news through third parties, later calling his ex-partner to confirm.
“I was joking, asking whether the child was mine, and she said yes,” he recalled.
Birth and DNA Confirmation
Obinna’s daughter was born on 7 September 2024, the same day he was hosting Dem wa Facebook’s homecoming show in Kitale. He said he later requested a DNA test to confirm paternity before stepping in to take responsibility.
“I was in Kitale doing a homecoming, and my daughter was being born in Eldoret. I had no idea. After confirmation, I went to see the child, asked about the bills, and took up my responsibilities. I don’t mind children, but I never really planned for any of them. I was reckless because I trusted people too much,” he admitted.

Others pointed out they had already spotted the child in his videos: “Kumbe huyo mtoi niliona kwa video amebebwa na one of your daughters na umemficha sura was yours? Obizzee keep going.”
Calls for More Sons
The disclosure came shortly after Obinna playfully told fans he would like to add “one or two boys” to his family. In a humorous video shared online, he joked about wanting tips on how to conceive a baby boy.
“I already have a son, but now I want to add one or two more boys to the bloodline,” he said, smiling mischievously.
Fans responded with banter and suggestions ranging from cultural myths to pseudo-scientific tricks, with Obinna making it clear his request was lighthearted.

Currently a father of five — four daughters and one son — Obinna continues to share parts of his parenting journey online, blending humour with candid reflections on the challenges and joys of fatherhood.
