Kenya’s R&B and soul sensation, Bridget Blue, has received a nomination at the 2025 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).

The acclaimed artist is shortlisted for Best Female Artist – East Africa, marking a significant moment for her career and East African music.

Ms Blue shared her excitement about the nod, taking to Instagram to rally her fanbase.

"I’m beyond honored to be nominated for Best Female Artist – East Africa at the AFRIMA Awards 2025," she declared.

She views the nomination as a collective achievement. "This award isn’t just about me, it’s about all of us, every listener, every supporter, every voice that believes in the power of music," she added.

AFRIMA: Africa's Grand Musical Stage

The All Africa Music Awards, presented in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC), is a major event in the continent's music industry.

This year, AFRIMA hit a record 10,717 entries, the highest in its history. A 13-member international jury conducted a screening process, resulting in 378 nominations across 40 categories for 271 songs from 270 artists. These entries represent all five African regions and the diaspora.

Winners are determined by a combination of public votes and votes from the AFRIMA Academy.

The voting process is also audited by a globally renowned firm, ensuring fairness and transparency4. AFRIMA's core values include Fairness, Authenticity, Creativity, Excellence, Integrity, and Transparency (FACE IT).

How to Cast Your Vote

Public voting for the 2025 AFRIMA Awards officially began on September 10, 2025. Music enthusiasts can cast their votes online via www.afrima.org or directly at vote.afrima.org.

First-time users must create an account, while returning voters can log in with existing details.

Each voter receives a personal dashboard and a unique shareable URL. Sharing this link can earn the original voter additional vote counts when others use it to log in and vote.

Each account is entitled to 40 votes daily, with every vote carrying 100 value points. These votes can be distributed across various Regional and Continental categories.

Bridget Blue is nominated in the Best Female Artist – East Africa category where she will tussle it out with Tanzania’s Zuchu and Abigail Chams.

Lagos Awaits the Stars

The 2025 AFRIMA Awards, themed "Unstoppable Africa," promises to be a grand celebration of African music. Lagos, Nigeria, is the official host city.

A week-long festival, featuring the AFRIMA Music Village, the Africa Music Business Summit, and a Nominees Party, will precede the main event.

The climax of the festival is the Main Awards Ceremony on November 30, 2025. Winners will receive the coveted 23.9-carat gold-plated AFRIMA trophy.
