Kenya’s celebrated vocal group Wanavokali is gearing up for a special night of music and style as they mark their sophomore album Vibes and Vokals. The group has announced an exclusive live experience happening at Mass House, promising fans an unforgettable evening filled with energy, fashion, and, of course, their signature powerful vocals.
Dubbed a night of “good vibes, energy, and vocal excellence,” the concert will showcase Wanavokali’s artistry while giving fans a taste of their latest body of work. Known for their stylish flair and bold stage presence, the group is also inviting attendees to show up in silver-inspired outfitd and accessories, creating a chic, unified theme for the evening.
Vibes and Vokals marks a new chapter for Wanavokali, blending soulful harmonies with contemporary Kenyan sounds. The album is already generating buzz for its lyrical depth and musical versatility, and the celebration promises to bring those sounds to life in a vibrant, interactive setting.

About the album
Vibes & Vokals, embodies its theme through and through. From the onset, Wanavokali’s goal with this sophomore album project has been to produce feel-good pop music that radiates positive energy and showcases their signature stellar vocals; all while conveying a meaningful message. The album’s uniqueness lies in its diversity. This project boasts of 10 tracks spanning a variety of Afro Pop genres, showcasing the collective's identity as youthful, vibrant, and energetic individuals.
Some of the genres showcased in this album include Kapuka, Arban Tone, Rhumba, Afro Beat, AfroHouse, and Amapiano. The music explores various themes such as love and desire, self- actualization, and women empowerment. Additionally, the album features collaborations from a varied pool of producers and musicians whose contributions further enriched the diversity of the project. Notably, Iyanii, Brand Maina and Nyokabi Macharia feature in the album, who each bring a distinct sonic identity that resonates with audiences.

Wanavokali, which translates to “Those with the vocals” In Swahili, is a collective of 6 Kenyan Performing Artists: Chep, Lena, Mellah, Riki, Sam and Ythera who share a passion for expression through Music, Fashion and Art.
The group met at the 2018 Safaricom Twaweza Live Tour, as Background Vocalists, where they performed live music on stages across Kenya with some of the best musicians, producers and dancers that the country has to offer. Throughout the whole tour, they got to experience music, and especially Live Kenyan music in a personal and very unique light.
In July of 2019, with their experience as Background Vocalists, amazing chemistry on and off stage, and the desire to create broader opportunities for themselves within the music industry, they finally got together as the vocal collective, Wanavokali.
Soon after, they worked on their first original and collaborative project with Kenyan Gospel artist, Collo G, releasing the single ‘Unioshe’ which was successfully received by local audiences and topped countdowns on major Gospel tv programs in East Africa.
The song was able to afford Wanavokali 2 Café Ngoma nominations for Best Cross Over Act (2019 and 2020) and won The Verse 5 Awards for Collaboration of the year (2020).
In 2020, Wanavokali became the inaugural winners of Old Mutual's Amazing Voices(OMAV), a Pan-African group singing competition, held in Johannesburg, South Africa. From a pool of 12 singing groups hailing from Ghana, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Kenya, the collective was able to bring home the much coveted title of “Amazing Voices”
