Artist VJ Patelo has opened up about two controversial videos that have been circulating online. One video seemingly shows his wife, Diana, slapping him in a club, while another appears to show Patelo in a confrontation with her.
In a sit-down with comedian and content creator 2mbili at his Utawala mansion, Patelo offered his perspective, dismissing public interpretations and emphasising the unique dynamics of his relationship.

The Trending 'Slap' Video Explained
During their conversation, 2mbili brought up a widely discussed video where Patelo's wife was seen seemingly slapping him in a club.
“There are 2 video clips, one showing where you are being slapped by wife and another one showing you seemingly assaulting her,” 2Mbili inquired.
Patelo immediately dismissed the public's reaction, labelling those who misinterpreted the incident as "mafala jo" (fools) who "walishindwa kufika maibe" (failed to match his rate-card).

According to Patelo, the incident was a misunderstanding. He explained that his wife was "tired" ("amechoka") and "akateleza" (slipped or stumbled), leading to what appeared to be an assault.

On the video of her slapping him, he insisted, "hakuna ngori ilikuwa hapo" (there was no problem there). He added that Diana was playfully telling him, "hapa hakuna mbata, nitembeze" (there's no problem here, take me around).
Patelo suggested that people simply don't understand their "love" and that it was merely a "kakofi" (a small pat).
Addressing the 'Assault' Allegations
2mbili also referred to another video, mentioning to Patelo, "ingine ulikuwa unapiga mama" (another one you were hitting mamaa).
Patelo firmly denied this perception, directly challenging 2mbili, "hiyo video iko wapi?" (Where is that video?).
He attributed such interpretations to individuals "wanajijazia vitu" (making things up) about their relationship.
Patelo stressed that neither he nor his wife has ever publicly complained about the other.

“Have you heard me or my wife complaining? You people should stop it,” he said.
He underscored his belief that "kila mtu ana style yake ya kupendana" (everyone has their own style of loving).
A Stance Against Public Scrutiny
He also briefly addressed past criticisms about his wife's age, stating it was "ngori yao" (their problem) and that "Diana is mine, her age matters to me, not them".
Patelo challenged critics to approach him directly rather than spreading rumours online, stating, "usiniulize kwa mtandao, kuja tupatane hivi" (don't ask me on the internet, meet me like this).
