Africa’s wealth landscape is shifting rapidly, with several regions emerging as hotspots for millionaire growth between 2015 and 2025.
According to the Africa Wealth Report 2025 by Henley & Partners, Black River in Mauritius leads the continent with a staggering 105% increase in millionaires, reaching about 1,100 individuals with a net worth of at least USD 1 million.
Morocco’s cultural hub of Marrakech follows with 67% growth and 1,700 millionaires.
In South Africa, the Whale Coast region recorded a 50% rise to 1,800 millionaires, while the Cape Winelands grew by 42% to 3,800.
Cape Town, long recognised for its business and lifestyle appeal, still shows a solid 33% increase and tops the list with 8,500 millionaires.
These trends reflect Africa’s growing investment opportunities, thriving tourism, and real-estate markets, which are attracting high-net-worth individuals seeking lifestyle and business advantages.
The data underscores Africa’s dynamic economic potential, positioning these cities as key wealth magnets as of June 2025.
