Kenya's leading wheat imports by source [$m]/HILLARY BETT

Russia was Kenya’s leading source of wheat imports in 2024, supplying wheat worth $506 million, or 81 per cent of the total.

This is according to data from the Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC).

Argentina was the second-largest supplier at $59.2 million, followed by Canada at $25.7 million.

Australia supplied wheat worth $14.2 million, while Uruguay accounted for $12.4 million and the Netherlands $7.18 million.

The figures highlight Kenya’s heavy reliance on Russia for wheat imports, with other countries contributing significantly smaller amounts to the country’s supply.
