The Nairobi Fight Night series delivered another dramatic evening on Saturday, with Odibets and Aiwex Sports staging a 10-bout card that drew a large crowd and featured two international contests.
The event, streamed live by Odibets, has become one of the fastest-growing fixtures in the local sporting calendar, offering a stage for both rising and established boxing talent.
Organisers Aiwex Sports said the September edition marked a step forward for the series, which celebrated its one-year anniversary last month.
“As the organiser and main promoter of the Nairobi Fight Nights, I am happy with the journey we have had,” said an elated Aiwex Sports representative.
“To hit the one-year milestone in our August event and, in the following September edition, to be able to stage a 10-fight card with two international fights to end the night was quite the spectacle.
The night opened with a women’s clash between Nicoline Achieng and Rael Ashiubwi, setting the tone for an action-filled program.

Chris Milano followed with a dominant performance over Solomon Muli in the lightweight division, while Salim Mustafa overcame David Ojode in a hard-fought super middleweight contest that went the distance.
Veteran fighter Samuel Njomo showed his experience with a swift first-round stoppage of debutant Muhsin Hassan, a result that drew loud cheers from the fans.
In one of the international attractions, Gabonese heavyweight Kassa Kingbo proved too strong for Kenyan Jared Amanda, controlling the bout from start to finish.
The main card produced the biggest upset of the night when Congolese lightweight Jerry Katamba defeated Kenyan favourite Philip Wanyoike.
Katamba’s pace and power unsettled the home crowd, leaving many stunned by the result.
Speaking after the event, Odibets Marketing Manager Ben Muriithi said:
“We at Odibets have decided to come out and support Kenyan boxing. We plan to help in the nurturing of talent and we will walk with the boxing fraternity to put Kenya on the world boxing map.”
Aiwex Sports noted that the growing popularity of the series reflects the loyalty of local fans and the appetite for more professional boxing events in Nairobi.
The next edition is set for September 18 at Vineyard, with organizers promising a bigger lineup.
Odibets, which broadcast the fights live, underlined its role in supporting the sport. Marketing Manager Ben Muriithi said the company intends to continue investing in boxing as part of efforts to nurture local talent and strengthen Kenya’s position in the sport.
With a mix of emerging fighters, international competition, and growing fan engagement, Nairobi Fight Nights are steadily building a reputation as the premier stage for boxing in the region.
