A NEW BILLIONAIRE has stirred fierce competition among a group of professionals seeking to manage a new machine the man reportedly acquired recently. Corridors of Power is told that the machine was delivered by the supplier, triggering a scramble among those seeking to operate it. This is even as some quarters expressed their shock at the fast pace at which the billionaire's acquisitions are seemingly piling up. Some say the new chap is allegedly in fierce competition with old-moneyed chaps and is going beyond machines. Nitpickers say that all the man does is find what his pacesetters are up to and he follows suit swiftly.

TENSION IS HIGH in Parliament following the extortion allegations against members. Some of the lawmakers are now accusing a senior member of the August House of 'selling them out,' claiming the fellow allegedly set them against a powerful figure for selfish political gain. Overheard in the corridors of the hallowed House, disgruntled members vowed to teach their colleague a lesson. They were overheard cursing that the man is playing a dangerous game, saying they can equally pull skeletons out of his closet.

ANGER IS GROWING in a critical docket after frequent changes that some of the officials have termed insensitive and inconsiderate of career growth and progression. Word is that officials barely settle in their new work stations before a change is instigated. In one case, it is reported that an officer wasn’t even posted after vetting. Some insiders have questioned the wisdom of demoting top civil servants in the changes, saying it creates confusion in the command structure. A top state functionary is accused of allegedly making the changes without due consideration of the impact on the officers' careers.

WE RECENTLY TOLD you about three politicians who allegedly lost a colossal amount of money to relatives of a colleague. The sleaze is said to be taking a toll on a key activity the politicos are expected to deliver in a few weeks. The three, a county chief and two lawmakers, have been tasked to deliver the assignment, the assigner believing they had the much-needed war chest. We are told that the trio are supposedly in a dilemma of whether to tell their instructor that the mission is impossible or keep quiet, having ruled out reporting the loss to the police.
