Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan revealed that she suffered a miscarriage earlier this year during her first pregnancy with husband Shakib Cham Lutaaya.

The disclosure comes after weeks of speculation on social media, sparked by photos of Zari with what appeared to be a baby bump.

The images quickly went viral, leading fans to assume she was expecting. Zari said the baby bump was from a shoot and not real.

"People are silly. They see me on my Snapchat every day posting pictures of myself, and they know I’m not pregnant. Can I get pregnant in just two days? They should use common sense. I put a hashtag showing I was on set, but they just ran with everything,” she said.

Despite dismissing the pregnancy rumors, Zari confirmed that she indeed conceived earlier this year but unfortunately lost the pregnancy at six weeks in May.

She expressed hope of trying again soon, noting her desire to have children with Shakib.

"He is my person, and he understands me so much. He is my personal person and my go-to person. I get him, the same way he gets me so much. Other men didn’t understand me like Shakib. God gave him to me as a gift,” she said.
