Marvin Omondi Nabwire, the Harambee Stars midfielder affectionately known as Marvo, isn't afraid to show his human side. The 24-year-old recently opened up about a deeply emotional moment he experienced on the pitch.
For most footballers, a red card is simply part of the game. But for Nabwire, being sent off during the match against Angola was a moment that broke him.
“The last time I cried was during the game against Angola after the red card,” he revealed.
The midfielder admitted that he couldn't shake off the feeling that he had let his teammates and fans down.
“At the moment I was hoping the game ends at a draw or we win but not losing, because in my mind, I would have caused our loss,” he confessed.

Nabwire's emotional reaction shows just how much responsibility he feels every time he puts on the Harambee Stars jersey.
For him, it's more than just playing; it's about carrying the dreams of millions of Kenyans.
The fear of being the reason for a defeat is a pressure few players talk about openly, but Nabwire's honesty gives a rare glimpse into the emotional toll of playing at the top level.
Despite that difficult night, Nabwire has since bounced back, continuing to fight for his place on the national team.
Nabwire also shared that the captain, whom he considers a true friend, stood by him after the Angola red card.
He describes the Harambee Stars in one powerful word: “Champions.” That confidence shows his determination to move past setbacks and help the team achieve more.
