Kenya’s music lovers were treated to a weekend of nostalgia and soulful energy as Old School R&B Brunch (OSR) one of the world’s fastest-growing entertainment brands, hosted its much-anticipated four-day line-up of events in Nairobi and Mombasa.
The experience kicked off on Thursday, August 14, with the business of music summit, where artists, tastemakers, and executives gathered for conversations on the future of African music. The following evening, fans blended sport with sound during the OSR padel party setting the tone for the weekend’s flagship celebrations.

On Saturday, August 16, Nairobi came alive with the OSR Nairobi edition, a lively day of food, culture, and R&B nostalgia. The series then wrapped up on Sunday, August 17, at the Sarova Whitesands Beach and Resort in Mombasa, where partygoers enjoyed the ultimate “R&B by the beach” experience with tropical flair.

What started as a small brunch in London in 2019 with just 250 guests has since grown into a global cultural movement, expanding to more than 45 cities across 15 countries. OSR now regularly attracts over 800 attendees at its London events and has also built a lifestyle empire, with professional recording studios and a signature Restaurant & Bar under its belt.
From London to Lagos, New York to Dubai, OSR has built a reputation for blending nostalgia with community, and its Kenyan edition solidified East Africa as part of its global footprint. For the hundreds who attended, the weekend was not just about music, it was about connection, culture, and celebrating the timeless magic of Old School R&B.
