Mobile phone ownership by type of disability in Kenya

Mobile phone ownership is highest among Kenyans with visual and mobility disabilities, with percentages of 68.8% and 69.7% respectively.

For those with visual impairments, female ownership is slightly higher at 70.8% compared to males at 66.1%.

Similarly, for people with mobility challenges, female ownership is at 72.1%, while male ownership is 66.4%.

In contrast, the lowest ownership rates are observed among individuals with communication disabilities, with a total of 42.4%, and selfcare disabilities at 35.8%.

Among these groups, male ownership for communication disabilities is 42.4%, while for females it is 32.8%, showing a significant gender disparity.
