Changes that involuntarily happen to ladies who get pregnantKenyan songstress Jovial has joyfully welcomed her second child — a healthy baby boy and her first with partner Mike.

The celebrated singer shared the heartwarming news on Wednesday, August 6, via her Instagram Stories, posting a touching photo of her newborn simply captioned, “My prince.”

The announcement was met with widespread congratulations and admiration, especially from close friend and fellow musician Otile Brown.

The two artists have a longstanding musical bond, having worked together on popular hits like Jeraha and I Got You. Jovial was also once signed under Otile’s label, Just In Love Music.

Shortly after the announcement, Otile took to his Instagram Stories to post a video and several photos from his hospital visit to meet the new arrival.

In the clips, Jovial is seen resting in her hospital bed, lovingly cradling her newborn, while Otile, dressed casually in a blue bomber jacket and jeans, smiles warmly at the baby. In another photo, the Baby Love singer is pictured holding the newborn with pride.

“Congratulations, Jovial, on your newborn. Proud of you all. Women are just superheroes. How you all do this is just mind-blowing. Blessings,” Otile wrote in a heartfelt tribute that resonated with fans, many of whom were moved by his continued support for Jovial.

Jovial’s Candid Pregnancy Journey

The Chibaby hitmaker has been open about her pregnancy journey, revealing that her second pregnancy came with unexpected physical and emotional challenges, especially during the first trimester.

In a candid post earlier this year, she admitted to struggling with extreme fatigue, nausea, and intense aversions to common scents and tastes.

At one point, Jovial revealed she went up to a week without showering due to how exhausting the experience became.

Simple daily routines such as brushing her teeth triggered overwhelming nausea, forcing her to substitute toothpaste with salt and charcoal powder.

She shared this not just as a reflection of her personal struggle, but as advice to other expectant mothers experiencing similar issues.

“Pregnancy is different for everyone,” she wrote. “Be kind to yourself. Just because one pregnancy is smooth doesn’t mean the next will be. And that’s okay.”

In May 2025, Jovial had first hinted at her pregnancy in the music video for her song Chibaby, where she appeared cradling her growing bump.

Fans flooded the comments with messages of congratulations, celebrating her blossoming journey to motherhood once again.

A Private Romance and Parenting Advice

Though she has kept her romantic relationship largely private, Jovial introduced Mike to her fans in May 2023, expressing gratitude for the love and peace she had found with him.

The couple has since maintained a low profile, choosing to focus on building their life together away from the constant glare of the limelight.

The singer also previously spoke out about the complexities of co-parenting, advising couples to only have children when they are emotionally and mentally prepared.

She described co-parenting as one of the most emotionally draining experiences, particularly when bitterness gets in the way.

“When two people fight over co-parenting, the child is the one who ends up hurting the most,” she said. “Some people think they’re getting back at their ex, but the real victim is the child.”

Jovial has kept her first child, a daughter from a previous relationship, away from the public eye and rarely discusses her past relationship with the child’s father — a decision that aligns with her desire to protect her family’s privacy.
