The family of beloved reggae and dancehall hypeman John Maina, popularly known as MC Fullstop, has made a heartfelt appeal to the public for financial assistance as they prepare to lay him to rest.

MC Fullstop had been candid about his health challenges in recent years.

In 2021, he revealed that he had been diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB), which had significantly affected his lungs. In 2022, he was hit with another setback when he was diagnosed with TB of the throat, which impacted his ability to speak and perform — a heartbreaking blow for a man whose voice had become synonymous with Kenya’s reggae culture.

Until his death, MC Fullstop remained a pillar in the entertainment industry. Known for his fiery energy and signature voice, he was a weekend mainstay on television and a central figure in Nairobi’s reggae scene.

His passion for music, dedication to his craft, and genuine love for his fans earned him legendary status in Kenyan showbiz.

“To many, he was a legend. To us, he was family,” the family said. “A kind, humble, and passionate man whose love for his craft was only matched by the love he had for his people.”
