Similarly, Tanzania’s rice has increased by 3% partly attributed to currency appreciation and rising demand from the region.

Conversely, Rwanda’s prices remained moderate with negligible price increases, like South Sudan at USD 1055/MT and USD632/MT respectively.

It is worth noting that despite the ongoing macroeconomic instabilities, South Sudan has the lowest-priced rice in the region, even lower than Tanzania.
