Responding to the honor, Janet Mbugua took to her social media to express her gratitude.

"Honored to be named among the 50 Most Influential Women in Kenya 2025 by @africapitol. I’m also reminded that influence isn’t the goal, impact is. Integrity is. Healing is," she wrote.

She emphasized the importance of leadership that fosters thriving communities, adding, "To be seen is affirming, but to show up every day, meaningfully, consistently, and truthfully, while navigating so many other layers of life? That’s the real work. This is a nod not just to the women on this list, but to every woman shifting culture, shaping policy, and taking up space in rooms that were never built with us in mind."

Jamila Mohammed, the Managing Editor at Citizen Television and a respected newsreader at Royal Media Services, was also recognized for her considerable influence. She has actively utilized her platform to address national issues and support humanitarian initiatives.

Notable among her efforts is the launch of "The Manifesto: More Women in Research" and her involvement in campaigns to provide food and water to marginalized communities in Garissa. Jamila Mohammed acknowledged the recognition with a simple yet heartfelt "Thank you for this honor."
