Global Afrobeats sensation and Grammy Award-winning singer Burna Boy has revealed that starting a family isn't part of his immediate plans.

The 34-year-old artist, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, attributed this decision to the demanding nature of his career, particularly his relentless touring schedule.

This clarification comes just days after his 34th birthday, where he had hinted at a potential reconsideration of his stance on having children, momentarily sparking fan speculation.

Speaking during a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra in London, Burna Boy explained that the intense pace of his life on the road leaves little room for settling down and building a family.

“I don’t want to start that on the road,” he said. “I’m not planning on quitting tours anytime soon, so I don’t know where to now put that—finding a middle ground.”

The question about his family plans arose when the host inquired if he envisioned starting one in the near future.

Burna responded candidly, suggesting that he's yet to figure out how fatherhood would integrate into his current high-octane lifestyle.

A Relentless Work Ethic

This interview also follows recent headlines where Burna Boy surprised fans by admitting he's never truly taken a proper vacation. Reflecting on his relentless work ethic, he told the BBC host, “I’ve never been on a vacation. I’ve just kept going.”

The interviewer light-heartedly joked about never seeing Burna Boy relaxing on a beach, playfully adding, “I want to see your toes, bro. Not like that, it sounds mad, but…” Burna laughed off the comment, reassuring them, “No, my toes are nice, you know.”
