Kenyan actress Sandra Dacha has once again drawn public attention, this time through a candid Facebook post responding directly to a follower who questioned her current weight loss efforts.
In a detailed and revealing message, Dacha laid bare her lifelong struggle with weight, from her birth at 6 kilograms to a peak of 152 kilograms during the COVID-19 pandemic, clarifying her current health goals.
The exchange unfolded on Facebook when a user, identified as Princess Vyona, commented on one of Dacha’s posts, stating, "I think you said before that you're OK with your weight you don't want to lose and you were 123kgs, apparently it was a lie and you said you do only exercise to be strong but not to lose."

This direct challenge prompted Dacha to break from her usual reserved approach to personal explanations. In her extensive reply, Dacha asserted her consistent stance on body image.
"I was born weighing 6 kilos already so that should tell you how comfortable I've always been, being a plus size," she wrote, adding, "I mean, I've never known what it's like to be thin."
She went on to clarify her long-term weight, stating, "My actual weight has always been 123kgs."
The turning point, Dacha revealed, occurred during the global pandemic.
"Corona happened then I went up to 152kgs which is the last stages of obesity. It's called Greater Morbid Obesity!" This significant weight gain evidently prompted a reevaluation of her health.

"I said no no no, I want to go back to my usual weight," she shared, indicating a renewed determination to return to the 123kg mark. She concluded her explanation with an update on her current efforts: "What I am doing now is toning down."
Dacha’s public narrative around her body image has indeed evolved over time. Previously, she was a vocal advocate for body positivity, frequently asserting her comfort and confidence at her "plus-size" of 123kgs.
Media reports from recent years quote her emphasizing that her physical activity was primarily for strength and well-being rather than weight reduction. However, her recent Facebook post signals a shift in focus, driven by health considerations after reaching 152 kilograms.
Sandra Dacha has, in the past, openly addressed her weight loss journey, revealing periods where she engaged in specific efforts to manage her weight, often with a focus on health and personal comfort rather than societal expectations.

During earlier periods, she consistently clarified that any exercise she undertook was primarily for strength and well-being, rather than a deliberate attempt to significantly reduce her overall body weight.
This earlier phase of discussing her weight can be traced back through various media interviews and social media interactions over the years leading up to the pandemic.
