STAR ILLUSTRATIONThe Kenya School of Law and Kenyatta University have announced new job openings targeting professionals in academia and administration as both institutions seek to strengthen their teaching and support teams.
At the Kenya School of Law (KSL), applications are invited for two positions — a Lecturer in the Advocates Training Programme and a Library Assistant.
The school stated that it is seeking “committed, dynamic and result-oriented persons” to join its strong team of staff and help realise its vision of being “a centre of excellence in professional legal training, research and consultancy.”
Applicants are required to submit their applications exclusively through the online recruitment portal available on the KSL website at www.ksl.ac.ke under the Careers section.
The deadline for applications is July 21, 2025.
The reference numbers for the positions are KSL/HR04/2025 for the Lecturer post and KSL/HR05/2025 for the Library Assistant.
Any applications submitted outside the school’s official recruitment portal will not be considered.
Meanwhile, Kenyatta University (KU) has advertised several academic positions across six departments.
The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health is looking to recruit a Senior Lecturer, a Lecturer and a Tutorial Fellow.
In the Department of Community Health and Reproductive Health Nursing, the university is seeking to fill the roles of Lecturer and Clinical Instructor.
The Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing and Pre-Clinical Sciences is advertising one vacancy for a Lecturer, while the Department of Special Surgeries is also seeking a Lecturer.
In the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health, the university is hiring for three senior academic positions — a Professor, an Associate Professor and a Senior Lecturer.
Additionally, the Department of Literature, Linguistics and Foreign Languages is looking to recruit a Lecturer and a Tutorial Fellow.
According to the advert, Tutorial Fellows will be engaged on a one-year renewable contract, up to a maximum of three years.
A competitive remuneration package will be provided, including basic salary, home allowance and medical cover as per the university scheme.
Applicants are required to submit full details of their academic and professional qualifications, work experience, current post and salary, along with telephone number and email address.
Copies of certificates and testimonials must be enclosed, along with the names and contacts of three referees “who are conversant with the applicant’s competence in the area of specialisation.”
Applications should be addressed to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance), Kenyatta University, P.O. Box 43844 – 00100, Nairobi.
Both applications and letters from referees must be received no later than July 16, 2025.
Kenyatta University has urged women and persons with disabilities to apply, stressing that it is an equal opportunity employer.
The university also warned that canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification and that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
