Bishop Kathy Kiuna has shared the incredible, faith-affirming story of how she and her late husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, secured the premises of Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) Parklands, and the miraculous journey that ultimately led to the church becoming officially debt-free.
Speaking candidly to her congregation, Kathy revealed that 15 years ago, she and her husband took out a colossal loan of KSh 250 million to purchase their church property.
Over the years, they had diligently repaid what they believed to be more than enough, with their total repayments reaching an astonishing KSh 430 million, most likely due to accumulated interest.
Despite this substantial amount, after Allan's passing in July 2024, Kathy was stunned to learn that the church still owed a significant KSh 196 million on the loan.
Recalling her husband’s final days, Kathy shared a poignant moment where Allan had told her not to worry about the formidable debt, assuring her with serene confidence that God had already taken over.
"He said to me, ‘Honey, God has taken over. It is going to be very easy.’ I didn’t realise at the time that this was his way of saying goodbye," Kathy recounted, her voice tinged with both sorrow and wonder.

Divine Intervention and Community Generosity
Just three weeks after Allan passed away, Kathy received a life-changing call from the bank. To her absolute amazement, they informed her that they had made an extraordinary decision: to waive KSh 120 million of the remaining debt, dramatically reducing the outstanding amount to KSh 74 million.
Still determined to honour their commitment and fully clear the balance, Kathy immediately reached out to a trusted church apostle who, without hesitation, rallied his friends to help.
In what can only be described as miraculous, within just one hour, the full KSh 74 million amount was pledged, leaving Kathy utterly speechless and in awe of the overwhelming generosity and profound faith of those around her.
"Bishop had said God had taken over, and truly, in one hour, it was done. I was speechless," she said, recounting the divine intervention.
Kathy further revealed a testament to their unwavering commitment: she and Allan had even gone as far as putting their own home up for sale.
This drastic step was considered to ensure that the church would not face public embarrassment or financial distress over its substantial loan.
Thankfully, they never had to take that drastic step. Instead, as if by divine orchestration, the necessary funds came through from unexpected sources.
Just two weeks ago, filled with immense joy and relief, Kathy triumphantly collected the precious title deed from the bank, symbolising their newfound financial freedom.
"We gave our house because we couldn’t allow the church to suffer shame. But God came through, and I am standing here to declare: Jubilee Christian Church is debt-free," she announced proudly to an applauding congregation, marking a significant milestone for the ministry.

Allan Kiuna's Courageous Battle and Unwavering Faith
In addition to sharing the incredible story of JCC’s financial breakthrough, Kathy also reflected on her late husband’s brave and arduous battle with cancer.
Allan was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer around 2018/2019 but kept his diagnosis private until 2019.
He underwent extensive treatment in the United States, and in December 2023, he courageously revealed that the cost of his medical care over the course of a single year had amounted to an astonishing KSh 460 million (roughly 3 million US dollars).
Remarkably, he always maintained that he never had to pay out of pocket because, in his profound words, "the God of heaven provided."
The journey, however, was far from easy. Kathy spoke movingly of how chemotherapy left Allan physically drained—he lost his hair, gained weight, and was often unable to stand or walk for long stretches due to excruciating pain in his legs.
She described those months as some of their most difficult periods. Yet, through it all, her husband continued to inspire countless others by praying for the sick and holding onto his unwavering faith, even as he fought for his own life.
"I saw my husband lay hands on the sick and they were healed, even as he was fighting for his own life," Kathy shared, a powerful testament to his enduring spirit.
Allan eventually declared himself cancer-free before his passing, and Kathy firmly believes his suffering ultimately brought him to a new spiritual level—one that inspired countless others along the way and left an indelible mark on his ministry and followers.
