Kenyan content creator and actress Nyaboke Moraa has left fans concerned after revealing her ongoing struggle with insomnia following the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, Marie.

In a candid TikTok live session, Nyaboke shared the lengths she has gone to in her desperate search for sleep, displaying several bottles of medication, including melatonin, none of which seem to bring her the rest she so badly needs.

“You see, this is melatonin, and they’re all pills to help me sleep, but they don’t help. I cannot sleep. There are different types, but none is working for me. I have even tried hibiscus tea, but it doesn’t help me sleep,” she confessed.

Nyaboke, who lost her firstborn child—whom she shared with fellow entertainer Blak Aende—on July 28, 2024, has been open about the immense pain and mental toll the tragedy has taken on her.

She revealed that during the initial days after her daughter’s death, she relied on sleep-inducing injections just to survive the night.

Though she now takes stronger medication that isn’t available over the counter, she admitted that even these often fail to help, and she sometimes turns to alcohol over the weekends in the hope of managing at least four uninterrupted hours of sleep.

“In this life, let’s stop judging people,” she pleaded. “These days I only drink over the weekend, and when I do, I can sleep for at least four hours.”

Earlier in March 2025, Nyaboke spoke out strongly against critics who took issue with her alcohol consumption, clarifying that drinking occasionally was one of the few things helping her cope with the overwhelming pain of her loss. In an emotional post, she explained that grief affects people differently and that her choices were part of her personal journey to survive the unthinkable.

This candid revelation followed an earlier heartbreak in November 2024, when she disclosed that she had been dumped by her partner who accused her of having “too many deaths” around her.

The man allegedly told her he feared losing her too, following the tragic death of her child and other family losses.

The painful rejection added to the weight of her grief, leaving many of her followers shocked and deeply sympathetic.
