Rising Tanzanian music star Mondy G is back in the spotlight with the release of his latest EP, Tatu Zangu, a three-track project that blends infectious Afro-pop beats with emotional storytelling.

The project was dropped on June 20, 2025.

Mondy G, whose real name is Raymond Hillary Ngonyani, has built a reputation for weaving deep emotion into catchy melodies and Tatu Zangu is no exception. The project opens with “Nimekuchagua,” a soulful ballad that celebrates choosing love despite challenges. The mood shifts with “Umenikamata,” a lively, dance-floor-ready anthem already buzzing among fans and DJs alike. Rounding out the EP is “Imani,” a reflective and uplifting track that speaks to resilience, faith, and hope.

Since his breakout with the Ipo Siku EP and hit singles like “Unaniweza” and “Wapi,” Mondy G has quickly cemented himself as a voice of his generation in East Africa’s music scene. With Tatu Zangu, he showcases artistic growth, emotional maturity, and a desire to connect more deeply with audiences across and beyond the region.

“This EP feels like a turning point,” Mondy G shared. “Each song comes from a different part of my heart love, joy, and faith. I wanted to keep it raw and real.”
